NaBloPoMo Day 29: Coffee Cake

You know that moment when you’re painting your nails and suddenly you remember that you’re supposed to bring in something to work the next day for your coworker’s birthday?

Thank god for recipes on the back of the flour bag. Coffee cake to the rescue!

This was my first time baking it. I’ve never even tasted it before. I don’t think. But again- coworker’s birthday.

This was the first layer of each mixture. I had a hard time spreading everything around- I don’t know if it’s because there was so much Pam on the pan or if there just wasn’t enough mixture

It was easier the second time around. And I think there’s more cinnamon/brown sugar mixture on top than in the middle.

NaBloPoMo Day 28: So Close

I almost forgot to blog again today.

I’m just already over this NaBloPoMo. It feels like a struggle to post something every year. And what’s funny is that I even had a list prepared of everything I was going to talk about.

It’s been rough this year, rougher than most. I’m not sure why

NaBloPoMo Day 24: Ten for Tuesday

  1. I mailed G-Dragon’s cowl four months ago today. I have no idea whether or not he has it in his possession. I saw a photo of him wearing a large, thick, dark blue cowl at the airport, and I yelled at my computer,” That’s not my cowl, asshole!” Yeah, this is making me really cranky.
  2. Remember how I said yesterday that I wasn’t sure that I wanted to do my Autumn Bucket List anymore? Yeah, I’m getting ideas for a Winter Bucket List now.
  3. I LOVE tzatziki sauce. I had some at Ari’s on Friday, then we bought some at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday. I’m in the process of baking some bread (first rising) and I’m going to dip some of this bread into my tzatziki when it’s ready. My point? I love tzatziki more than hummus.
  4. Zombie and I went to Bailey’s Chocolate Bar on Saturday night. We were celebrating my full time promotion, and we also hadn’t seen each other in a few weeks. She’d never been there before, so it was nice that I was able to treat her to something special like that.
  5. I’ve been calorie counting since the 8th, and I’m already sick of it. Ugh. In two weeks I only lost 1.2 pounds. Of course, it’s more about the sugar restriction than calories and weight, but still.
  6. My landlord is going out of town this week and he’s asked me to check on his cat Pineapple. I was excited because I thought I would get some cat loving. When I went over there yesterday so that he could show me her things, she was less than thrilled. So I’ll just stick to the kitchen. Don’t want to stress the poor thing out.
  7. Turkey and Russia are sniping at each other. It’s the start of World War 3. I’m calling it.
  8. I finished reading The Elephant Vanishes by Haruki Murakami. I loved it. It was a collection of short stories. They ran the gamut from an excerpt from the novel The Wind Up Bird Chronicle (which I’ve read); a vanishing elephant; newlyweds who are so hungry they hold up a McDonald’s just for Big Macs; and a woman who hadn’t slept in seventeen days. Murakami is one of my favorites. Not going to lie.
  9. I finished Ibby’s scarf today! YAY! I’ve just got to bind off and block.
  10. I have a pen pal! You know- stamps, envelopes. Anyways, she’s a Twitter and AFF pal and lives in Alabama and it’s such fun. Yay being old-fashioned!

NaBloPoMo Day 23: Randomly on a Monday

Currently reading: The Elephant Vanishes by Haruki Murakami

Currently knitting: Ibby’s scarf

What I’m listening to: Rachel Maddow

What I’m thinking: Rachel Maddow quoted Justin Bieber and now I have to re-think our entire relationship.

Also, I don’t know if I want to keep continuing with my Autumn Bucket List. Or any of them. I feel like it’s too much pressure.

Same with NaBloPoMo

Current mood: sleepy
